TRANSGENDER TRAILBLAZERS TEE
I wanted to create a shirt that featured some of the people who are responsible for creating social change and trans awareness. They were/are advocates, activist, pioneers, community leaders, and historical figures in the transgender community. Through their actions and involvement, they paved the way for many trans people, allowing us to live our lives more openly, safely, and authentically.
In addition, wearing a shirt displaying the faces of these trailblazers is my way of paying homage to the heroes of the transgender community.
T-Shirt illustration includes: Sylvia Rivera, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, Leslie Feinberg, Alexander John Goodrum, Lou Sullivan, Kate Bornstein, Louise Lawrence, Marcelle Cook-Daniels, Reed Erickson, and Marsha P. Johnson.
HELPING SUPPORT TWOCC
50% of each shirt sold is being donated to the TransWomen of Color Collective.
TWOCC is a grass-roots funded global initiative created to offer opportunities for trans people of color, their families and their comrades to engage in healing, foster kinship, and build community. They strive to educate and empower each other through sharing skills, knowledge and resources as they build towards the liberation of all oppressed people.
